Governor of Nassau, Woodes Rogers, with pirates Edward England, Charles Vane and Benjamin Hornigold at the Northern California Pirate Festival (Stephen C Johnson)

During the year members of Interpreting History stay busy researching, planning, and presenting a wide variety of historically themed activities. These may include educational presentations, single-day or weekend reenactments, and culminate at the end of each year with the grand and immersive production of The Athenæum Club at The Great Dickens Christmas Fair.

We hope that you can be our guest to attend and enjoy these presentations! Afterall, you are the reason we do this!

However, you could participate in an Interpreting History event yourself! This is a great way to get involved in historical reenactment even when you do not have the time or resources to commit to joining the cast of one of our more structured theatrical productions.

The level of research or costuming required varies, and some events may include audience interaction, while some may not. Generally speaking, the level of commitment is far less than that of our theatrical productions. Most events typically last one day.

Some events are a one-time occurrence and while others may repeat annually. If you would like to learn more about how you can participate in an Interpreting History event, please Contact us!
